Kampala, Uganda: Friday, 16th June 2023 was crowned with the agricultural Awards ceremony as customers, farmers and the nation stood to vote for the companies that have tremendously impacted their lives through their services. This saw many companies that participated in the categories of awards. This being the second edition of the awards, it attracted over one million voters and this increased significantly from the previous year.
The event was graced by The Minister of State for Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries (Agriculture), Hon. Kyakulaga Fred Bwino who represented the Rt. Hon Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja. Speaking at the event, Hon. Bwino reinstated government support to the sector players and also encouraged transparent policies to be developed to further facilitate an enabling environment for business.
Med Mwiri, Head Sales and Marketing during his remarks, appreciated all farmers and the government of Uganda alongside the organisers of the awards for being transparent and expressing their trust through casting their vote in favour of Engineering Solutions Uganda Limited.
The Annual Agricultural Awards aim at motivating, recognizing and rewarding outstanding individuals and organizations that have contributed and innovated towards development of the agricultural sector. These include individuals and organizations that have showed commitment to hard work and development of the sector.
The Awards aim at recognizing, spreading best practices, inspiring others, motivating, and influencing the public about the importance of agriculture and the role played by different stakeholders in agriculture sector development.
Through showcasing the best individuals, groups, organizations, cooperations and industries in the country that continue to play a role by telling their stories and assessing their contribution over the years. The first national all-embracing agriculture awards took place on the 16th June 2023 at Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
The Annual Agricultural Awards 2021 are designed to highlight the importance of agriculture development in line with the 2014 African Union Malabo declaration that calls for uplifting of Agriculture players. The Awards will focus on our history over the years and appreciate individuals, organizations, districts, agencies, and companies that have steadily, effectively, and accurately enhanced the value of Agriculture in Uganda over the years. The Awards focus on, but are not limited to communication in Agriculture, Science initiatives, Extension services, AGritech innovations, Research, Financiers, Teachers, companies, or others working in this area are always eligible for nomination.
